Penny Black Card & Gift Tag Set

Penny Black stamps are my second favorite, right after PTI... of course! I used several different Penny Black clear sets and PTI's Mixed Messages & Mega Mixed Messages. I colored the images with Copics. I have been waiting for Copics ever since I first started stamping 10 years ago. They are everything I have ever wanted in a coloring medium. I kept the layout to the set CAS so that the focus is on the images. It kind of reminds me of Beatrix Potter in a way, that is having the colored image surrounded by a lot of white space. For the tags I used Marvy punches and glued two tags together to "hide the backside" of the colored image.

Monogrammed Stationery Gift Set

This is a gift set I made last year for a family friend. Hopefully, I will mail it to her for Christmas this year. I am not real good about getting to the post office.

All stamps (except for the monogram stamp, which I unfortunately do not know the manufacturer), paper, and ink are SU! I got the template off of SCS. Once again, I do not know the name of its creator.

Birthday Ensemble (continued)

This is a continuation of a prior post. I would have inserted a link but I am experiencing technical difficulties. Please scroll down a bit to view the corresponding post. This is a birthday gift for my neighbor. I made the note pads myself so they have a "rustic" quality about them.

I also included some greeting cards in my gift. I got the box instructions off of SCS. I am sorry, I do not remember who designed the template. Adding the belly band was my idea. The box holds over 20 cards +  envelopes. The box is made from a 12x12 sheet of PTI DP. I stamped the oval with the coordinating PTI Boxes, Bags, & Tags set. The monogram and names are a combination of PTI Fresh & simple Alphabets. I used PTI Simply Stationery for the circle behind the monogram.

Halloween Treat Boxes

Here are some of the treat boxes I made to hold my Halloween nuggets! I colored rhinestones to match using Copic markers. I used a Fiskars small oval punch to cut out the oval stickers used to seal the boxes shut. I punched the ovals from a  full sheet of sticker paper. I used crochet thread to tie on the buttons and to tie the tag to the box.  I punched a hole near the edge of the box so I could tie on the tag. I figured this would ensure the tag would stay on  and no matter what I decided to do with them (whether to give them to co-works or to my parents to give out to kids in their neighborhood) the presentation would be flawless

Tea Time Coasters & Cards

Here are better pictures of the coasters and cards, which are part of my “Tea Time” ensemble. You can see a photo of the complete set here. Dawn McVey’s use of cork inspired my project. I first used a very thick and shiny self-stick laminate, which looked terrific, but when I put a glass on the coaster it slid off. I ended up using self-stick laminate I bought at an office supply store, worked like a charm.

Halloween Nugget Labels

Halloween Labels 4

I found clear treat boxes at Walmart that hold 8 nuggets (2 layers of 4). The boxes were marketed as do-it-yourself wedding favors. It only took me a year to figure out what to do with them. I am using them for Halloween treats. I made tags to coordinate with the labels. I’ll post the treat boxes tomorrow.

Birthday Gift Ensemble

Birthday Gift 1

I made the notepad by cutting cream resume paper to size, stamping it, and then I painted several thin coats of Elmer’s glue (the plain white stuff) on the end. I used black binder clips to hold the paper secure while I applied the glue. I wasn’t sure the glue would work but it did. I must say that Elmer’s glue probably doesn’t work as well as the professional stuff (the sheets don’t tear off as perfectly) but I was looking for a quick and easy alternative and this did the job.

Tip: If you want to try making a notepad, make sure you have the paper tightly pressed together before painting on the glue or else the glue will seep in between the sheets. I  think one of those wood working clamps would work better than the black clips since it would apply pressure across the width of the paper.

I stamped on the twill ribbon that is wrapped around the box of stationery. I also inserted two small pieces of the stamped ribbon in the grosgrain bow. I was really happy with how it turned out but, unfortunately, it isn’t easily viewed in these pictures.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember the manufacturer of the floral stamp.
